Two Arrested For Kidnapping And Rape In Western Cape

Western Cape police have arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged kidnapping and rape that occurred in Grabouw in November 2024.

The arrests were made on Thursday in Bellville after officers acted on a tip-off.

Firearm Seized During Arrest

Maitland Flying Squad officers identified a Volkswagen T-Cross linked to the case and stopped the vehicle, which had two occupants.

Police searched the suspects and their vehicle, recovering a 9mm pistol and 59 rounds of ammunition.

While the firearm’s owner presented a valid license, it is believed the weapon was used during the alleged crime.

Charges and Legal Proceedings

The suspects, aged 41 and 31, face charges of kidnapping and rape. Police spokesperson Sgt Wesley Twigg confirmed they will appear in court after being formally charged.
