Trump Slams The Door: SA Banned From 2026 G20 After Explosive Rant

US President Donald Trump has escalated tensions with Pretoria after announcing that South Africa will not receive an invitation to next year’s G20 summit in Miami, Florida.
His decision follows the US boycott of last week’s G20 leaders’ summit in Johannesburg and an extraordinary statement posted on Truth Social on Wednesday.
Trump Launches Fierce Attack on SA Government
In a fiery message, Trump accused South Africa of refusing to address what he called “horrific human rights abuses” against white South Africans — repeating claims of a so-called “genocide” that have long been widely discredited by international observers, researchers, and human rights bodies.
Trump wrote, “The United States did not attend the G20 in South Africa, because the South African Government refuses to acknowledge or address the horrific Human Right Abuses endured by Afrikaners, and other descendants of Dutch, French, and German settlers.

“To put it more bluntly, they are killing white people, and randomly allowing their farms to be taken from them.”
He also blamed the media for not supporting these allegations, adding:
“Perhaps, worst of all, the soon to be out of business New York Times and the Fake News Media won’t issue a word against this genocide. That’s why all the Liars and Pretenders of the Radical Left Media are going out of business!”
The claims echo long-running narratives Trump has promoted about South Africa, despite evidence to the contrary.
G20 Snub After Summit Clash Over Presidency Handover
Trump further alleged that South Africa had refused to hand over the G20 presidency to a senior US embassy official during the Johannesburg summit’s closing ceremony.
“At the conclusion of the G20, South Africa refused to hand off the G20 Presidency to a Senior Representative from our U.S. Embassy, who attended the Closing Ceremony,” he wrote.
He then announced that South Africa would be barred from the 2026 summit:
“Therefore, at my direction, South Africa will NOT be receiving an invitation to the 2026 G20, which will be hosted in the Great City of Miami, Florida next year.”
Trump went even further, declaring that the US would halt financial support to Pretoria:
“South Africa has demonstrated to the World they are not a country worthy of Membership anywhere, and we are going to stop all payments and subsidies to them, effective immediately.”

South Africa’s Presidency has not yet commented on Trump’s remarks, and officials did not immediately respond to media queries.
The G20 declaration adopted on Saturday addressed climate change, global economic challenges and global inequality — positions supported by most member states but opposed by Washington.
