Trial Looms For Accused Killer Of Limpopo Nurse

A 57-year-old man, Fannie Malope Seribishane, is set to stand trial in the High Court in Limpopo for the brutal murder of a 52-year-old nurse.

The nurse, Mumsy Seribishane, was gunned down outside Lebowakgomo Hospital in October 2024.

A Senseless Killing

She was shot and killed moments after disembarking from a taxi and walking towards the hospital’s gate.

The accused, who is facing charges of murder, domestic violence, and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, was arrested in November 2024, to face trial this year.

Seribishane is scheduled to appear in court for trial proceedings from August 4 to August 8.

The case has sparked widespread outrage, with the Democratic Nursing Union of South Africa (Denosa) in Limpopo calling for a thorough investigation into the killing.

The accused has opted not to apply for bail, and the trial is expected to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the senseless killing.
