Tragic Kenyan Tourist Plane Crash Kills 12 Near Maasai Mara

A light aircraft carrying tourists and a Kenyan pilot crashed today, 28th October 2025, while en route to the Maasai Mara, killing all 12 people aboard.

The flight, operated by Mombasa Air Safari Limited, was travelling from Diani Airport, a well-known coastal tourist hub, to Kichwa Tembo private resort within Maasai Mara National Game Park.

The airline confirmed the incident, expressing deep regret over the loss. “Sadly, there are no survivors,” the statement read.

The aircraft, registered 5Y-CCA, had ten passengers and two crew members. Updated reports indicate the victims included eight Hungarian nationals, two Germans, and the Kenyan pilot.

Emergency Response and Investigation Underway

Mombasa Air Safari has activated its emergency response team and is fully cooperating with authorities, who have launched a formal investigation into the crash.

A Family Assistance Team has been established to provide support to the bereaved relatives, with the airline emphasising its commitment to helping those affected during this tragic time.
