Top Cop General Sibiya Linked To Criminal Cartel, Claims Crime Intelligence Boss Khumalo

Crime Intelligence Head General Dumisani Khumalo has claimed that suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner General Shadrack Sibiya is among several senior police officers allegedly linked to a criminal cartel.
Khumalo told the Madlanga Commission that he had informed Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, who is currently on special leave, and National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola about the allegations.
He said the information was shared during a confidential meeting held earlier this year.
Senior Officers Under the Spotlight in Ongoing Investigation
According to Khumalo, investigations are ongoing, and he could not reveal the identity of a fifth police officer said to be implicated because the matter remains at a critical stage.
Khumalo stated, “Lt General Sibiya, Organised Crime head Lt General Richard Shibiri, Sedibeng District Commissioner Brigadier (Mbangwa) Nkwashu and Captain Makgotle at that time were the names identified. So these were the names that we’re identified by the 16th of January already.”
