Tiwa Savage Reopens Tyla’s Identity Wounds – Mzansi Says ‘Keep Our Name Out Your Mouth!’

Hayi, Tiwa Savage is back in Mzansi’s mouths — and not in a good way. The Nigerian star just can’t seem to leave Tyla’s Coloured identity saga alone, and South Africans are officially over it.

It all started when Tiwa appeared on The Breakfast Club earlier this month, where she boldly apologised “on behalf of Tyla” for the young star’s Coloured identity statement.

She said Tyla was probably too young to understand the weight of it, but promised forgiveness was needed. That move didn’t sit well with South Africans, who felt she was speaking out of turn.

Days later, Tyla hit the Global Citizen stage and cheekily dropped: “Sorry, I’m not sorry!” before sliding into her performance of Mr Media. The crowd screamed, and social media immediately clocked it as shade thrown directly at Tiwa Savage for trying to “play big sis” when nobody asked.

But instead of letting the drama die down, Tiwa’s camp decided to pour more petrol on the fire. In the latest episode of The Breakfast Club, the hosts read a new statement from Tiwa’s team. It claimed her intention was never to “speak for others,” but rather to answer the question with empathy and act like a big sister to the Water hitmaker.

The damage, though, is already done. Mzansi is dragging her for reopening the wound when Tyla was already shading and moving on.
