TikTok To Host Its First-Ever US Awards Show Live From Hollywood
TikTok has officially announced that it will host its first-ever awards show in the United States. The inaugural TikTok Awards will take place on 18 December at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, kicking off at 9PM ET.
Fans who can’t make it in person will be able to watch the show live on TikTok, while Tubi will stream the full event the following day.

The awards will honour standout creators and moments that defined the platform over the past year. Categories include “Creator of the Year,” “Video of the Year,” “Breakthrough Artist of the Year,” and “Muse of the Year.”
Socialite Paris Hilton has also snagged a nomination, though the “Muse” category remains a bit of a mystery.
TikTok Awards to Celebrate Viral Creators and Pop Culture Moments
Most of the nominees come from the influencer world, with no traditional journalists featured — a clear sign that TikTok’s event will steer clear of politics.
One “Video of the Year” contender features a fashion influencer showing off unique finds, while another showcases a mouth-watering recipe for “Homemade Dubai Chocolate.”
Fans will have their say, as voting opens on 18 November through a dedicated TikTok voting portal. The show promises to deliver all the glamour of a high-profile gala, complete with a red carpet, live performances, and a live audience.
A Global Trend Reaches the US
While this marks TikTok’s first awards ceremony on American soil, it’s far from the app’s first foray into celebrating creators. The platform has previously hosted similar events in Germany, Mexico, Korea, and other countries.
The move comes in contrast to Instagram’s new Ring Awards, which will not feature a live event — instead, winners will receive their trophies by post.
It is not immediately clear when or if TikTok plans to organise a similar large-scale awards event in African countries like South Africa to honour its growing community of African creators.
The platform has hosted smaller creator recognition initiatives in the region, but no full-scale awards gala has been confirmed so far.
