Thuso Mbedu’s Heartfelt Tribute To Her Late Cousin Who Died In Horrific Accident

It truly takes immense courage to pay tribute to a loved one. Thuso Mbedu, the international award-winning actress, recently shared her heartfelt memories of her late cousin, Lusanda, who tragically passed away in a car accident.

Thuso kicked things off by gathering family members on the 3rd of November 2023, a day marked by laughter and tears as they reminisced about all the good times spent together.

It wasn’t just any family reunion; it was filled with laughter, stories, and a sense of connection that only family brings. Thuso expressed how important it was to see everyone, sharing, “I don’t know when I’ll get a chance to see any of you again.”

Moments of Joy Before Tragedy

The gathering was a celebration of life—memories were relived through joy and tears. Thuso recalls, “the night of 3 November 2023 memories were relived and shared, given voice through laughter and tears of joy.”

They agreed that no photos or videos would be taken; they wanted to enjoy every moment without distractions. But sadly, fun turned into heartbreak when Lusanda lost her life in a tragic car accident later that day.

Finding Strength in Memories

For a while, Thuso battled with the pain of that loss; she couldn’t even bring herself to share the news. Only recently has she found the courage to express her heartache, saying, “I can still hear Lusanda’s laugh as she batted her long lashes.”

She reminisced about their time together and the profound impact Lusanda had on her life. Thuso plans to keep her cousin’s spirit alive by remembering her in everything she does. “When her father laughs or her mother speaks, I’ll listen for Lusanda’s voice,” she said.
