Three Suspects Linked To Cop Murder Killed In Johannesburg Police Operation

Three suspects wanted in connection with the murder of a police officer have been shot and killed during a shootout with police in De Deur.
The incident took place on Wednesday morning during a police operation targeting individuals linked to serious crimes in the Johannesburg Central policing precinct.
Suspects Open Fire on Police During Operation
According to police spokesperson Granville Meyer, officers from the Serious Organised Crime Investigation units in the Vaal and Germiston acted on intelligence regarding the men’s whereabouts.

Upon arriving at the identified address, the suspects allegedly opened fire on police.
Police returned fire, fatally wounding all three suspects at the scene.
Firearms Recovered at Scene
Police confirmed that multiple firearms were recovered following the shootout.
“One revolver with ammunition and two pistols with ammunition were found on the scene. Two of the firearm’s serial numbers were filed off,” Meyer said.
Authorities said the suspects were wanted in connection with cases of police murder and attempted murder in Johannesburg. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
