Three Suspected Rolex Gang Members Killed In Police Shootout At Buccleuch Interchange

Three suspected members of the so-called Rolex gang have been shot dead following a shootout with police at the Buccleuch Interchange in Gauteng.

The incident unfolded on 25 June after police acted on intelligence about a group of suspects travelling in three separate vehicles believed to be scouting shopping malls.

A fourth suspect was later arrested and is expected to face charges linked to an alleged planned robbery.

Police Shootout At Buccleuch Interchange Leaves Three Dead

According to police, members of the Gauteng Tactical Response Team (TRT) identified one of the vehicles travelling along the N3.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver allegedly sped off, resulting in a high-speed chase.

The pursuit ended at the Buccleuch Interchange, where a shootout broke out between the suspects and police.

The three suspects were declared dead at the scene.

Rolex Gang Suspect Arrested After Police Operation

While officers were processing the crime scene, a second vehicle linked to the investigation was spotted in traffic.

Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was alone at the time.

According to police, the suspect will be charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

Investigators believe the group is linked to the so-called Rolex gang, which has been associated with robberies targeting victims wearing luxury watches.

Specialised Police Units Backed The Gauteng Operation

The Gauteng Tactical Response Team was assisted by the Provincial Anti-Gang Unit, the Gauteng Traffic Airwing and private security companies during the operation.

Police have not disclosed whether any officers were injured during the exchange of gunfire.

Investigations into the incident are continuing as authorities work to identify the remaining suspects and determine the full extent of the alleged criminal operation.
