Three Found Shot Dead Inside VW Polo In Montclair

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has launched a major investigation after three people were found shot dead inside a silver VW Polo in Montclair, Lentegeur, Cape Town on Wednesday morning.
Police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut confirmed that officers made the grim discovery at around 6am at the corner of Hillcrest Road and Park Way.
Victims Shot In Cold Blood
According to Traut, the victims — two men and a woman, all believed to be in their twenties — sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Early indications suggest that the execution-style attack may be gang-related, though investigations are ongoing.
“Detectives have been assigned to the case and are pursuing several leads in a bid to track down those responsible,” said Traut.
Condemning the killings, Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General (Advocate) Thembisile Patekile called the attack a senseless act of violence, vowing to tighten the net on Cape Town’s criminal networks.
“Gangsterism has no place in our society. The SAPS will continue to exert pressure on these networks until every individual involved in violent crimes is brought to justice,” said Patekile.
Cape Town’s Bloody Week Of Violence
The Montclair triple murder comes amid a spike in gang and gun violence across the Mother City.
On Monday night, Anti-Gang Unit members deployed to Manenberg seized a silver 9mm firearm, 20 .38 special rounds, and over 70 units of mandrax during a targeted operation. A 32-year-old suspect was arrested on the scene.
In a separate incident in Delft, police arrested a 25-year-old suspect linked to the murder of three people in Leidon on Sunday. Officers recovered a firearm holster and R7 400 in cash during his arrest.
Police are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that may assist the mass murder investigation.
Tip-offs can be shared anonymously via Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or through the MySAPS mobile app.
