The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Thohoyandou has launched a massive manhunt following a horrific incident where a 14-year-old schoolgirl was kidnapped and raped by three separate assailants in Shayandima.

The brutal attack, which occurred last Friday, was committed by three guys, with one of the suspects known to the victim, but he is still at large.

From School Gate to Nightmare

The ordeal began on the morning of Friday, September 5, 2025. The victim left her home in Shayandima Zone 10 for school but failed to return that afternoon. According to a police report, after school, the girl was taken by her 20-year-old boyfriend, a taxi driver from Shayandima.

“He allegedly drove her to his residence, where he raped her in the late afternoon,” the report states. “He then drove off with her and later instructed her to get out of the vehicle and walk home.”

At approximately 18:30, as the traumatized girl walked alone, a blue Toyota Corolla with an unknown registration number stopped beside her. Two unknown male suspects then forced her into the vehicle.

“The two unknown African male suspects allegedly forced her into the vehicle, drove to an unknown location, and both raped her before releasing her,” police confirmed.
