Thandi Modise Sona Comment: ‘SA Is Not Proud Of Us Tonight’

Thandi Modise the National Assembly speaker filled the Twitter trends list as she looked calm in the face of continuous disturbances during President Cyril Ramaphosa’s state of the nation address (Sona). Thandi Modise made a comment that “SA is not proud of what happened in parliament.

The EFF demanded former president FW de Klerk to be pulled out from the house on Thursday, claiming it was a “mistake” for parliament to invite a “murderer” to Sona.

EFF members again asked for public enterprises minister Pravin Gordhan to step down.

The chaos caused Sona to be delayed by EFF for more than an hour.

A video of Modise’s comment  “SA would not be proud of what transpired in parliament” has also been trending.

Modise’s calmness resolve and firm managing of the chaos were admired on social media.

She stood up for herself, saying there were protocols that needed to be followed.
