Thabo Bester And Dr Nandipha Run To Court To Block Netflix’s Explosive Doccie

Mzansi’s most infamous couple, Thabo Bester and Dr Nandipha, want Netflix to pull the plug on Beauty and the Bester — claiming it’s full of lies and violates their rights.”
Netflix shook South Africa last week when it unveiled the trailer for its much-hyped three-part documentary, Beauty and the Bester. The series — dropping 12 September — dives deep into Bester’s scams, his infamous escape from Mangaung prison, and his fiery love story with Dr Nandipha Magudumana.

But just as Mzansi started marking calendars, Bester’s legal team came through with a bombshell: they’ve filed an urgent interdict to stop the release entirely.
Thabo Bester Legal Tea: Privacy, Dignity & “Falsehoods”
According to Eyewitness News, Bester’s lawyers argue the documentary tramples on his rights to privacy, dignity, and a fair trial. In legal docs, he blasts Netflix for:
- Selective editing and “unsubstantiated claims”
- Failing to give him the chance to respond
- Creating a “character assassination under the guise of a documentary”
In his words, the production is “riddled with falsehoods… deliberately designed to evoke sensation.”
With the premiere looming, his lawyers are begging the court to put this case on urgent roll before the doccie drops.

From Prison Break to Courtroom Drama
Let’s not forget — Thabo Bester, also dubbed “the Facebook rapist,” is currently standing trial alongside Dr Nandipha for a laundry list of charges, including helping him escape and defeating the ends of justice.
Now, instead of Netflix drama hitting our screens, we might first get courtroom drama as the couple fights tooth and nail to silence the series.
The question Mzansi is asking? Will the judge side with Netflix and let the tea spill on 12 September… or will Bester and Dr Nandi snatch the remote before the world sees their story?
