The devastation has hit again Gauteng’s education sorority as one pupil has died and another one molested in Tembisa. An 11-year-old student from Raikana Primary in Soshanguvhe at Pretoria died after being hit by a car which was driven by a teacher from a different school on Tuesday.
A 15-year-old Tembisa student suffering from autism was molested reportedly by a 17-year-old student from the same school.
The accused was arrested and later released into his parents’ custody, the Gauteng Education Department reported.
“It is sad indeed what is happening in our space. The psychosocial teams will be at both schools tomorrow to provide the necessary support.” Department spokesperson Steve Mabona announced.
It’s understood the culprit walked behind the victim in the autism phase classrooms, which are blockade from the vocational area and reputedly molested her behind the classrooms. “An assistant teacher saw the perpetrator coming from behind the classroom zipping up his pants and the victim was also seen pulling up her pants,” the department added.
