Teenager Fabricates Rape And Kidnapping Story To Spend Time With Boyfriend

A 17-year-old grade 10 student from Ethekwini, KZN, fabricated a harrowing tale of rape and kidnapping.

This happened in a bid to cover up her decision to bunk school and spend the day with boyfriend.

The teenager’s mother contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance after the daughter claimed she had been kidnapped and raped.

A Web Of Lies Unravels

However, her story began to unravel when a female Reaction Officer interviewed her and realized that the events described were exaggerated and fabricated.

She claimed, she was walking to school when a white vehicle with several male occupants stopped, and bundled her into the boot of the car.

She described being driven to an unknown location, forced to consume a glass of juice believed to be laced with drugs, and being raped.

When offered to transport her to point out the scene where one of the suspects had drowned, the teenager confessed that the incident did not occur.

Consequences And Concerns

The teenager’s mother was visibly upset and informed RUSA Members that she would discuss the incident with her spouse and decide on a way forward.

This raises questions about the teenager’s behavior and the consequences of her actions.
