SpeedyBrand is a platform that utilizes generative AI to create custom SEO-optimized content, including websites and social media posts, tailored to individual brands.

SpeedyBrand recently announced a successful funding round, raising $2.5 million led by GV (Google’s venture arm) and Y Combinator, valuing the company at $15 million.

Brands begin by selecting a topic, allowing the platform to generate text and suggest relevant images for the desired content.

The platform also offers analytics functionality, enabling brands to track the performance of their content once it is live. Sharma emphasized the need for cost-effective marketing solutions in the face of economic slowdown.

SpeedyBrand is well-positioned to assist businesses with an affordable solution to their content marketing needs. However, concerns arise when it comes to generative AI technology.

These models, while impressive, can sometimes produce inaccurate information due to a phenomenon known as “hallucination.” Furthermore, biases in training data can result in text-generating AI generating toxic or offensive remarks.

Another potential issue for brands is the risk of plagiarism of copyrighted work. Previous studies have demonstrated that models such as GPT-2, a predecessor to ChatGPT, could “copy and paste” entire paragraphs from their training data.

Additionally, generative AI has contributed to an increase in low-quality content flooding the internet. Companies like Newsguard have identified hundreds of ad-supported websites, created using generative AI, disseminating misinformation under generic-sounding names.

Cofounder of SpeedyBrand, Sharma insists that SpeedyBrand is not a content mill and takes measures to mitigate any potential toxic content generated by the platform’s AI.

He claims that SpeedyBrand’s AI can be personalized to match the brand’s tone and produces content that is “plagiarism-free,” incorporating feedback from content edits to improve future outputs.

While it is difficult to evaluate the veracity of these claims without an independent audit, brands seem eager to embrace the potential of generative AI, leading to SpeedyBrand’s significant growth.

Currently, with a team of six, SpeedyBrand boasts over 50 paying customers and more than 1,000 users. The company’s annual recurring revenue has reached $100,000, with Sharma projecting it to reach $1 million within the next year.

Despite the competition in the market, including ventures like Typeface, which recently secured $65 million in venture capital, and startups such as Movio, Copysmith, Copy.ai, Sellscale, Jasper, Omneky, and Regie.ai utilizing generative AI for marketing copy, imagery, and video creation, the market continues to expand.

According to Statista, 87% of current AI adopters are considering or already using AI to improve their email marketing. Moreover, a report predicts that the generative AI market will exceed $110 billion by 2030.

Considering that nearly half of SMB owners handle content marketing themselves, the incentive for this segment to adopt tools that promise to save time, money, and headaches is even stronger.

Sharma concluded that SpeedyBrand’s platform saves marketing teams countless hours, from strategy development to content generation and posting, enabling them to focus on their core business activities.

With the recent funding, SpeedyBrand plans to introduce additional tools for text and image generation, further enhancing their offerings for SMBs.
