Sony may be experiencing issues with PlayStation Plus games today. Commenters on Reddit, ResetEra, and NeoGAF forum postings describe various players being notified of a notice that reads:
“The game will expire in 15 minutes,” before booting them to the PlayStation home screen. Kris Holt encountered the problem while playing Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart on Wednesday evening.

Users who have encountered the problem claim that it appears to occur with any game in the PS Plus catalogue.
Fortunately, it seems that you can return to the game from the home screen and quickly resume playing. The cycle, however, appears to repeat in regular 15-minute (and possibly other) chunks.
It is unclear how common the problem is. (According to some Reddit users, they are able to play PS Plus games without issue.) Furthermore, there are no known fixes for the problem.

PlayStation has not yet publicly acknowledged the issue.
