On May 10th, EA will release the free-to-play mobile Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth, their first LOTR game since 2009’s The Lord of the Rings: Conquest. It also released the first official trailer, which showed gameplay, menus, and other details.
It’s one of five LOTR games presently in development by Embracer (who acquired the rights last year), including the highly anticipated Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which is due out soon.

EA described the trailer as having a “stylized realism art style,” with wanderers, soldiers, wizards, and other legendary LOTR figures. AT THE SAME TIME, it provides “a more diverse and inclusive Middle-earth,” according to the firm, who demonstrated Story, PVP, and other gameplay modes.
Heroes of Middle-earth features characters from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, as well as collection systems, turn-based combat, and other features.
EA previously stated that players will encounter “iconic stories from Tolkien’s world and take up the fight against the great evils of Middle-earth.” Because the game is free to play, there are microtransactions.
