Abbey Games Announces Sequel To God Simulation Game ‘Reus’.

Abbey Games has confirmed that a sequel to the indie god sim Reus is “on the way,” about a decade after the first was released for Windows PCs.

After it was released, the original game received largely positive reviews, and the developer sold over one million copies worldwide. Maarten Wiedenhof, Manuel Kerssemakers, and Adriaan Jansen, founders of Abbey Games, stated:

Players in Reus 2 will be able to establish several planets as their elemental gigantic god figures.

They have the ability to shape those planets whatever they want to see how the humans who live on them react to the various environments that surround them and the obstacles they face.

And by “challenges they encounter,” we mean whatever the player chose to throw at them. Hey, it’s a god simulator; players can choose to make life simple for the people on one planet while putting the inhabitants on another through the wringer.

They can even manufacture an apocalypse and restart from scratch. Aren’t you glad we’re not in a video game? (But are we?)

According to the developer, Reus 2 is still in the works. It does not yet have a release date, but those who are interested can add it to their Steam wishlist.
