It seems the streets have gone quiet for Tebogo Thobejane, and not because she’s booked and busy — but because men apparently want nothing to do with her since the whole Vusimuzi Cat Matlala hitman saga.

In a tearful social media video posted on 2 November 2025, the actress and influencer let it all out, saying that since the October 2023 N1 shooting — where her ex, businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, allegedly ordered a hit that left her shot in the foot and her friend paralysed — her love life has gone straight to the ICU.

Tebogo Thobejane “Men Are Not Brave, They’re Scared of Dying”

Tebogo didn’t mince her words. “Let me tell you something about men — you think men are brave. Men are not brave. There’s no man that will come and say, ‘Come, I’m gonna date you and take care of you since you’ve been shot,’” she said tearfully.

She continued, dragging the entire male species in one go: “They are scared of dying. So now I walk into a room — and I’m hot, neh — a bunch of men who any other day would’ve taken me, married me, taken me around the world… now they see it’s all over Google. They say, ‘She’s been shot, she’s a snitch, she’s drama.’”

The star claimed that her past with Matlala, who faces attempted murder and conspiracy charges, has made her “undateable,” adding that many of the men who once courted her now keep their distance.

“Most of them are rich politicians and businessmen who’ve also done bad things. They don’t want to die. When they hear my name, they leave the room.”

“Sometimes I Get Home and Cry”

Tebogo revealed that the aftermath of the shooting has taken a toll on her self-esteem.

“You get home and cry asking God, ‘Why didn’t I just die?’ You see your friends levelling up, even your enemies using your name to feed,” she said.
