Tebogo Thobejane Drops Bombshell: Reveals Why Her Ex, Cat Matlala, Allegedly Wanted Her Dead

Actress and former club owner Tebogo Thobejane has shaken the streets after spilling why her ex-boyfriend, businessman Vusi “Cat” Matlala, allegedly wanted her six feet under.
Tebogo Thobejane Spills on Her Toxic Romance with Matlala
Tebogo, who once starred in Muvhango, revealed that her ex-lover Matlala — currently behind bars — was allegedly involved in not one but multiple violent plots.
According to Sunday World, Thobejane submitted a signed witness statement under oath back in February. In it, she claimed that Matlala not only discussed violent acts with her but also implicated him in the murder of whistleblower Babita Deokaran and his own lawyer friend, who had reported him to SARS over tax issues.

Even more shocking? Tebogo alleged that Matlala’s wife, Tsakani Matlala, played a role in an attempt on her life in October 2023. Sis basically said the couple were moving like a real-life Bonnie & Clyde with blood on their hands.
Meanwhile, Matlala recently trended when he whined from jail about being scared of “life-threatening germs.” The irony, right?
South Africans React: “This is Crazy!”
As expected, social media wasted no time dissecting Tebogo’s revelations. Here’s how the TL lit up:
@Qlyv_Mydear: “Why does she call her ‘this girl’, the lady who got injured during the shooting? Were they not friends?”
@lorrenzom: “Is that why she left the country?”
@KgapzSonopo: “@NetflixSA, cook please.”
@Tshepo_ZAR: “Slay queens and criminals are a match made in heaven.”
@TellUnknown: “Tebogo must leave the country for a while cause she has opened a can of worms.”
Some even turned philosophical, with @Diaryofazulugal writing: “All Black rich South African men can be taken down by slay queens… the problem is most slay queens are not motivated enough to leverage their ‘files.’”

Court Drama and What’s Next
The bail application for Matlala was heard on Monday, 8 September 2025, in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court and denied; he remains charged in connection with serious crimes.
With Tebogo’s allegations now out in the open, Mzansi is questioning just how deep this rabbit hole goes. As @positivegp bluntly put it: “Such thuggery, such evil amongst us! Our country’s security is completely compromised.”
Sis Tebogo might just have opened a can of worms— and now everyone is watching to see if she’ll stay safe, or if this scandal will unfold into the crime drama of the year.
