Tbo Touch is trending for all the wrong reasons — and Mzansi is split straight down the middle. The once-revered radio heavyweight and self-styled business mogul has found himself caught in a messy financial storm, with allegations flying that he left South Africa for Australia while millions in debts remained unpaid.

According to a Sunday Times report that sent X (formerly Twitter) into overdrive, Touch — real name Thabo ‘Tbo Touch’ Molefe — is now facing a looming legal battle with former friend and businessman Lesiba Gwangwa. What started as brotherhood and big-money dreams has reportedly turned into letters of demand, accusations of asset dumping, and some very loud online speculation.

Tbo Touch Debt Allegations Spark Legal Firestorm

At the centre of the drama is an ultra-luxury Mercedes-Maybach and a failed gospel music event that allegedly cost investors hundreds of thousands.

Court documents claim that in 2024, Molefe sold his Maybach after admitting he was under financial strain, partly due to plans to relocate to Australia in 2025. The vehicle was reportedly sold through a dealership for R2.5 million, but the deal came with conditions — including a R215,000 shortfall, a spare key, and repairs to a damaged sliding roof.

Gwangwa alleges that because Touch was struggling financially, he stepped in and paid R160,000 toward the shortfall, with additional costs of R12,000 for the spare key and R85,000 for roof repairs — expenses he says were never reimbursed.

But the car saga wasn’t the only red flag.

Failed Concert, Broken Friendship & X Reacts 

The fallout deepened with claims around Touch’s Replenishment Concert, which allegedly collapsed despite a star-studded gospel lineup featuring Hezekiah Walker, Benjamin Dube, Dumi Mkokstad, SbuNoah, Xolly Mncwango and more.

Gwangwa reportedly invested heavily, with documents stating the total capital injection into the event reached R895,000, leaving an alleged R369,000 debt still unpaid.

One legal letter claims Touch had already left South Africa despite these obligations and was allegedly disposing of assets, raising concerns that creditors could be left high and dry.

And once the story hit X? All hell broke loose.

Some rushed to Touch’s defence, accusing critics of “black-on-black jealousy” and urging people to stop celebrating another man’s downfall. Others weren’t convinced, questioning his wealth, his business claims, and even accusing him of curating a lifestyle that doesn’t match his known income.
