Table View Woman Arrested For Drugs A Day After Husband’s Brutal Assassination

A day after her husband was mercilessly gunned down at a busy shopping centre, a Table View woman has been arrested for drug possession—fuelling speculation about the motive behind the killing.
Shocking Execution at Food Lover’s Market
The brutal shooting took place outside Food Lover’s Market in Parklands on Saturday, leaving shoppers in shock as police cordoned off the scene around a black Lexus. The 55-year-old Mauritian national was sitting in the passenger seat while his driver went inside the store when gunmen ambushed him.
Authorities have described the murder as a targeted hit, dismissing any links to broader crime trends in the area.
Wife Arrested After Anonymous Tip-Off
A source revealed that as the investigation got underway, the victim’s wife—described as a Xhosa woman—arrived at the crime scene in pink pyjamas.
“She claimed to be his wife, but people didn’t believe her because they expected him to be married to an Indian or Muslim woman,” the source said.

“She didn’t seem sad and left after a few minutes. But shortly after, police got a tip-off that she had left the scene with drugs and headed to her house in Big Bay.”
Following the lead, police raided the property and uncovered 25 Ecstasy tablets, R400,000 in local currency, and about R100,000 in foreign cash. The woman was arrested, but authorities have not linked her to her husband’s murder yet.

Police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana confirmed the arrest. “We can confirm that a 25-year-old suspect was arrested after Ecstasy was found in the suspect’s possession,” Manyana said.
