Suspect Sentenced To 22 Years For Girlfriend’s Murder

Aron Mothofela Sibaya, a 36-year-old man from Turffontein, Tseseng Village in Qwaqwa, has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Sibaya was convicted for the brutal murder of his girlfriend, Nthabiseng Motshau, 44.

The incident occurred on December 17, 2023, when Sibaya repeatedly stabbed Motshau with a knife inside their home.
Disturbing Murder Scene
The Police were summoned to the scene by the community, who reported a case of gender-based violence.

Upon arrival, officers found trails of blood leading into the house, where Sibaya was found holding a knife, with Motshau’s lifeless body on the floor.
Despite rushing her to the hospital, Motshau succumbed to her injuries.

The trial was held at the Bethlehem Free State High Court, and the case was investigated by the Tseseng Detective Service.
