State To Oppose Fannie Nkosi Bail As Pretoria North Court Hearing Continues

The bail application of suspended police Organised Crime Unit officer Fannie Nkosi is set to continue on Monday at the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court.

Nkosi was taken into custody earlier this month by the SAPS Madlanga Commission Task Team after authorities conducted a raid at his Pretoria North residence.

He is facing multiple charges, including theft, defeating the ends of justice, and the unlawful possession of ammunition and explosives.

Nkosi previously spent eight days testifying before the Madlanga Commission, where he detailed his alleged connections to suspected criminal cartel figures Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and Katiso “KT” Molefe.

After more than two weeks behind bars, he is due back in court as proceedings around his bail bid resume.

State Opposes Bail Over Alleged Links To Violent Crime Networks

In an affidavit filed last week, Nkosi said he intends to plead not guilty, maintaining that the charges against him are fabricated.

However, the state is contesting his release, arguing that available evidence indicates he may have played a role in shielding individuals connected to serious and violent criminal activities.
