Springboks Crush England After Early Scare In Ellis Park Thriller

The Springboks proved once again why they are world champions, shaking off an early wobble before powering to a convincing 45-21 win over England in an entertaining Nations Championship clash at Ellis Park.

South Africa had to overcome unexpected disruptions before kick-off after captain Siya Kolisi was ruled out with a hamstring injury. Eben Etzebeth also missed the match because of an undisclosed issue, forcing the coaching staff into late changes.

Confidence grew within the visitors as they piled on more pressure before half-time. Lock George Martin then powered through several defenders to score, with Fin Smith’s conversion narrowing the gap to just three points at 17-14.

South Africa needed a response after the break, and Williams delivered exactly that. The scrum-half sliced through England’s defence with a trademark burst to restore breathing room.

Any thoughts of an upset disappeared when Malcolm Marx once again showed his value from close range. The hooker powered over from a driving maul for his 27th Test try in his 88th international appearance.

South Africa finished the contest in style as England’s defence finally cracked. Ben-Jason Dixon crossed after the final hooter to complete a seven-try performance and seal an emphatic 45-21 victory.
