Midfielder Sammy Seabi, who spent the previous season on loan at Sekhukhune United, scored the decisive goal in the 66th minute from a well-executed corner kick.

During the 2022-23 Eredivisie season, Go Ahead Eagles finished 11th among the 18 teams. Mamelodi Sundowns’ victory against them followed a commendable 2-2 draw against Belgian Jupiler Pro League team Gent on Friday.
As part of their tour, the Brazilians are scheduled to face two more Eredivisie clubs — Sparta Rotterdam on Tuesday and NAC Breda on Friday.
