After weeks of trial in Naturena, Luke Fleurs has found a new home with Kaizer Chiefs. The 23-year-old defender impressed Amakhosi during training, leading to the signing of a two-year contract with an option to renew.
Chiefs’ sporting director, Kaizer Motaung Jr., expressed his excitement about the signing, stating, “We are very excited and happy to have Luke join us. The young man has great technical abilities and will fit well into our style of play.”
Fleurs, who has represented South Africa at the youth level and has PSL experience, is seen as a valuable addition to the team.
Reflecting on his signing, Fleurs expressed his delight, saying, “I always wanted to be part of the Glamour Boys. This is the biggest club, and I want to help us win things.” He also acknowledged the challenging period the team is going through but remained optimistic, stating, “Results haven’t been going our way lately, but we will turn it around through hard work because there is great talent here.”

Looking ahead, Fleurs will be competing with his former Matsatsantsa teammate, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, as well as other players, for a place in Chiefs’ rear guard. His goal is to secure regular game time and catch the attention of Bafana Bafana head coach, Hugo Broos, in the hopes of representing the national team.
