Somizi Mhlongo Takes Aim At South African Airways’ Business Class

Somizi Mhlongo, the king of extra, has just thrown some serious shade at South African Airways (SAA) over their business class. You know Somizi doesn’t hold back, and he went all out on social media, stirring up quite a buzz.
The father of one shared a photo on Instagram showing off his business class seat and honestly, it looked just like economy class. He captioned it with: “So this is business class. Seats are the same size as in economy class. But double the price. Pls make it make sense, my dearest @flysaa, coz I really wanna support you.”

Somizi Mhlongo’s Followers React
His post sparked a whole debate with followers and celebs jumping in. One commenter was like: “🤣 this is why I don’t do business for local flights, unless I’m using @lift__sa they are amazing.”
Actor @bohangmoeko also weighed in, saying: “This is how the airlines make most their money on domestic flights. Business class and ‘Premium’ economy tickets. They make you pay so much more but the value you get is not worth it. International flight is where you really get your money’s worth.”
Even TV presenter @andilencube shared: “Fell for this once. They leave the middle seat open so you don’t have to share with 2 other people but just 1, and allow you in 1st and off 1st.”

And then @yayarsa, a multi-award-winning transgender activist, dropped their take: “Lol! They really are funny, just because they gonna serve you Johnny Walker and have a curtain separate you from business class they think YES! No man. I believe in @lift_sa EVERYDAY!”

The Bigger Picture
A lot of airlines slap the “business class” label to justify higher prices, but the real luxury is mostly seen on international flights. Frequent flyers know the difference and are quick to point out when things don’t add up.
Somizi’s post definitely got people talking, and it seems like he’s not the only one feeling the pinch of these so-called business-class perks. Maybe SAA will take a hint and step up their game. What do you guys think? Worth the extra bucks or nah?
