South Africa’s favourite media personality, Somizi Mhlongo, celebrated his 52nd birthday today in a mix of heartfelt reflection and bold fashion.

While fans are used to seeing Somizi host extravagant celebrations, this year he took a different approach, starting his special day by appreciating the love and support of his family.

Somizi’s Gratitude

In a post shared just two hours before turning 52, he expressed his gratitude for the blessings in his life. “2 hours before 52. Lord, you keep showing off. U still gonna,” he wrote, accompanied by a photo of himself rocking a floral-print Louis Vuitton t-shirt and Gucci pants, paired with towering platform heels.

The media personality also shared a heartfelt video compilation on Instagram, featuring his family singing happy birthday to him.

The clips included a touching moment with his late mother, legendary actress Mary Twala, and her close friend, Lillian Dube. “I know what unconditional love is,” he captioned the post.

In another post, he reflected on the challenges of the past year while looking forward to the next with fierce determination. “2024, I survived u. 2025 u gonna have to survive me coz I’m coming very hard unapologetically as expected shem,” he declared.
