Back in November 2024, the streets were buzzing after popular YouTuber and social media star Snikiwe “Sni” Mhlongo was nabbed by Joburg Metro Police for allegedly speeding through Fourways.

Sis says she was simply picking up a friend for a brand gig when she hit a downhill road — next thing? Blue lights, hidden cameras, and handcuffs!

“I was so confused, but I cooperated fully. The officers showed me the footage allegedly clocking me at 104 km/h. They then declared it an automatic arrest,” she told Sunday World.

Sni Mhlongo: “It Was Horrible”

And as if the arrest wasn’t enough, false rumours of being drunk and disorderly started flying on socials, turning Sni’s reputation into a warzone.

“Emotionally, it was horrible. It made me question what I did to deserve that,” she confessed.

Sis wasn’t just fighting the law — she was dodging career Ls, too. Some brands hit pause, others ghosted completely, all over an unproven claim.

“Dealing with court publicly while my character was trashed was unbearable.”

But Sni kept it cute and legal: “We played it by the book,” she added, giving props to her fire legal team.

While the trolls did the most online, Sni had a ride-or-die squad at home — and none more solid than her mom, actress Brenda Mhlongo. “Mom arrived that night with her lawyer and carried me through,” Sni revealed.

Even better? Her sister pulled out the car tracker receipts that debunked the cops’ claims. Not Sni having her own CSI team at home. “That belief kept me sane,” she added.

The charges? Dropped on December 11. The rep? Still intact. But the damage? Let’s just say the influencer girlies now know — fame comes with fire.
