Sni Mhlongo Denies Drinking And Driving, Leaves Us With More Questions

So, Snikiwe Sni Mhlongo, our fave influencer and YouTuber, is back in the spotlight, but not for the best reasons. Remember SurgeZirc SA reported that she got herself in hot water last week after being arrested on November 7 for speeding like a maniac?

Apparently, Sni was caught zooming at 180 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. Can you believe it? 180 km/h! She got nabbed by the cops and was taken to the Sandton Police Station.

And get this—Sni tried to play the celebrity card to dodge arrest. Yeah, girl, nice try. But the law wasn’t having any of it. They even tested her for alcohol. After spending a night in detention, she got released on R1000 bail.

Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed her arrest and said she appeared in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on November 11. But the outcome is still pending from the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).

Sni Mhlongo’s Statement That Doesn’t Say Much

Fast forward to now, Sni has issued a statement addressing all the media fuss. She confirmed that she was detained by JMPD but denied all the juicy bits.

“While I am limited in what I can disclose due to the ongoing nature of the case, I want to emphasise that City Press and other media outlets have presented grossly inaccurate and misleading information about my detainment in a sensational manner.

“This caused unimaginable mental health challenges in the last 5 days, including reputational damage from constant cyber abuse,” said Sni. Hebanna! Say what?

She went on to deny the speeding allegations and the supposed celebrity antics. “I was not arrested for driving at 180km/h in a 60km/h zone as the journalist has falsely claimed whilst quoting an unnamed police officer.

“And I did not refuse to be detained citing being a celebrity. I was also not tested for alcohol consumption as the outlet yet again falsely claimed. And I was not charged for driving under the influence. I also want to point out that I do not consume alcohol.”

So… What Really Happened?

But hold on, Sni! You said you’ll give us a full and transparent update once the matter is resolved, but your statement just left us with more questions. Like, what actually went down? How fast were you driving? What were you detained for if not for speeding?

For now, it feels like we’re left hanging. Sni’s statement doesn’t clear up much, except for flat-out denying everything that’s already been reported. We’re all waiting to see how this plays out. Hopefully, she’ll give us the real tea once everything’s sorted.
