Smash Afrika, born Afrika Similo Mdutyulwa on October 31, 1988, in Bloemfontein, is a well-known radio and TV personality. He began his career on campus radio and later gained fame at YFM in 2012. Over the years, he has hosted various shows, including Massive Music on Mzansi Magic and 5Nights on 5FM.

Beyond his media career, he is also an entrepreneur, co-founding the fashion brand October Thirty First and creating the event African Urban Nights to celebrate African music, art, food, and fashion.

Personal Life

In his personal life, he married Kefiloe Mdutyulwa in February 2020. However, their relationship has faced challenges, with reports of a protection order filed by Smash Afrika against Kefiloe. Additionally, there have been rumours of a scandal involving Smash and singer Msaki, though details remain speculative.

Despite these personal hurdles, he continues to shine in his professional endeavours and is set to make a significant impact as the new host of Big Brother Mzansi Season 5.
