Skeem Saam’s Mahlatse Moropo Breaks Silence On Gay Rumours After Red-Carpet Drama

Skeem Saam star Mahlatse Moropo has finally set the record straight after whispers about his sexuality lit up social media.

The actor, who plays Letetswe Kunutu on the hit SABC1 drama, stole the spotlight at the Basadi in Music Awards with his bold, fashion-forward looks — and that’s when the gay rumours started flying.

But Mahlatse is unbothered. Speaking on Sunday World Engage, he made it crystal clear: “No, no, no, no, I am not gay.”

“I Don’t Care What People Say” – Mahlatse Moropo Stands His Ground

The Limpopo-born creative, who is also a dancer, choreographer, and voice-over artist, said he refuses to let gossip dictate his life.

“I’ve learnt not to care about what the next person says. If it doesn’t bring me money, I don’t care. Some people have even taken their own lives because of social media. I live my life, I do my thing.”

Mahlatse also revealed that his partner has been nothing but supportive.

“I was speaking to my partner, and she asked how I felt about the comments. I told her, ‘absolutely nothing.’ I did all of that intentionally, right down to the outfits. I went with the drama,” he laughed.

Mahlatse Won’t Tone It Down for Anyone

Despite trolls, Mahlatse says he will never water down his creativity just to fit in.

“That would be giving people the power to control me into admitting something I’m not. I don’t see the need. I’m not here to explain myself.”

With confidence like that, it’s clear Moropo is not only shutting down rumours but also rewriting the rules of masculinity and self-expression in Mzansi showbiz.
