Six Teens Nabbed For Brutal Murder Of Matric Pupil At Eastern Cape School

A fatal stabbing at Humansdorp Senior Secondary School in the Eastern Cape has left the community reeling, as police confirm the arrest of six teenage suspects linked to the killing of a matric learner.
Fatal Stabbing During School Hours
On Tuesday morning, an 18-year-old matric pupil was stabbed to death during an altercation on the school premises shortly after 8am.
Rapid Emergency Medical Services (Rems) responded to the scene and found the victim with serious upper torso wounds. “Despite all efforts, the pupil had sustained a fatal wound and showed no signs of life,” said Rems.

Teen Suspects Arrested Near Oyster Bay
Eastern Cape police spokesperson W/O Majola Nkohli confirmed that detectives tracked down six teenage suspects near a gravel road leading to Oyster Bay within hours of the murder.
The group—four minors aged 16 and 17 and two 18-year-olds—were questioned and later detained on a charge of murder.

Nkohli stated that the four minors will be processed to appear in the Children’s Court, while the two 18-year-olds will appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
This fatal attack follows a disturbing pattern of violent incidents involving sharp objects during school hours across the province. Education authorities and community leaders have expressed deep concern over escalating learner-on-learner violence and the need for urgent interventions.
