Six Killed In Separate Khayelitsha Shootings As Police Launch Murder Probe

Six people lost their lives in two separate shooting incidents in Khayelitsha over the weekend and early hours of Monday.
According to the South African Police Service, three men were killed inside an informal dwelling in Makhaza on Sunday evening, while another three were fatally shot at a shebeen in Endlovini a few hours later.
Police confirmed that no arrests have been made in either case, and investigations are continuing.
Khayelitsha Shooting Leaves Three Men Dead In Makhaza
Police said the first shooting happened in Khonkxa Street in Makhaza on Sunday, 24 May, at around 7.30pm. The victims, aged between 20 and 24, were found with gunshot wounds inside an informal structure.
“In the first incident, three men aged between 20 and 24 were shot and killed inside an informal dwelling in Khonkxa Street, Makhaza, on Sunday evening, 24/05 at about 19:30,” SAPS said.
“Family members reportedly heard gunshots and found the victims with gunshot wounds inside the structure.”
The suspects allegedly fled the scene before police arrived.
Three More Victims Killed In Endlovini Shebeen Shooting
A second deadly shooting unfolded in Endlovini during the early hours of Monday morning. Police said three men in their thirties were shot at a local shebeen at around 1.38am.
“In a second incident, three adult males in their thirties were shot at a shebeen in Endlovini during the early hours of Monday morning, 25/05 at about 01:38,” SAPS said.

“The victims later succumbed to their injuries at a medical facility.”
Authorities said the gunmen escaped after the attack.
Police Investigate Motive Behind Khayelitsha Murders
Detectives are now probing the circumstances surrounding both shootings. Police have not yet confirmed whether the incidents are linked.
No suspects have been arrested, and the motive behind the killings remains unknown.
SAPS has urged anyone with information related to the shootings to come forward as investigations continue.
