Sibiya Cries Out “I’m Under Siege” Following Centurion Home Raid

Suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya, has described feeling “under siege” following a law enforcement raid at his Centurion home on Thursday.
During the operation, officials confiscated a laptop and several phones. Early reports suggested that Sibiya had been arrested, but it was later clarified that the visit was strictly a search and seizure procedure.
Deputy Commissioner Claims Pressure and Betrayal
Sibiya expressed his frustration at what he perceives as a targeted campaign against him.
“I am under pressure, I am under siege, I’ve been called a criminal in daylight in front of all South Africans, I have been called stupid,” he said.
He added that he feels betrayed by his colleagues and that the actions against him are intended to intimidate him ahead of key proceedings.

The suspended officer is preparing to appear before the Madlanga Commission, Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee on SAPS, and an internal disciplinary hearing.
“I am waiting myself to have my day at the Commission, ultimately I will be charged, I expect to be pushed out, it’s what this whole thing is all about,” Sibiya said.
