Shooting at Sandton Restaurant Leaves 3 Dead, Four Injured

A violent shooting at popular restaurant in Sandton, Gauteng, on Thursday, March 6, 2025, has left three people dead and four others injured.

According to authorities, the incident occurred when a man with a firearm attempted to enter the establishment, which has a strict no-firearm policy.

This led to a deadly shootout between the man’s bodyguards and the restaurant’s security personnel.

Fatal Shooting Leaves Two Bodyguards Dead At The Spot

The authorities are yet to confirm the identities of the bodyguards. The situation quickly escalated, with five others sustaining gunshot wounds.

The victims included the man who initiated the altercation, two patrons who were caught in the crossfire, a community policing forum (CPF) member, and a security guard.

According to the Police spokesperson Col Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, disclosed that, “two bodyguards were declared dead at the scene while the man, two patrons, a community policing forum member and a security guard were taken to hospital with gunshot injuries.”

Aftermath of the Tragic Shootout at Sandton Restaurant

After the deadly exchange of gunfire, all injured parties were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Tragically, the man who began the altercation, died shortly after being admitted to the hospital.

The other injured victims are currently receiving medical attention, and in stable but critical in some cases.

The incident has shaken the local community and raised concerns about safety and security in public venues.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the man involved had a violent history. It has been revealed that he was arrested last year for a similar shooting incident in Sandton.

Authorities are now working to uncover more details about the shooter’s background and his intentions that night.
