Shibiri Home Raided By Madlanga Commission Task Team In Johannesburg

The Johannesburg residence of suspended Richard Shibiri was reportedly searched early on Saturday morning by a task team linked to the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
Sources say officers arrived at around 7am and conducted a search at the property, where several items were seized.
These reportedly included licensed firearms and electronic devices. Shibiri, who previously headed the South African Police Service (SAPS) Organised Crime unit, was at home during the operation.
Investigation Focuses on Alleged Corruption and Interference
The raid forms part of an ongoing probe by the commission, chaired by retired Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, into allegations of corruption, political interference, and the infiltration of criminal syndicates within the justice system.
Shibiri has come under scrutiny during proceedings at the commission over his reported links to controversial businessman Vusimuzi Matlala, also known as “Cat”.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any charges will follow the search.
The investigation remains ongoing, with further developments expected as the commission continues its work.
Officials are expected to provide additional updates in the coming days as more information becomes available.
