Rapper Or Employer From Hell? Shebeshxt’s Staff Peanut Salaries Exposed As Modern-Day Slavery

Rapper Or Employer From Hell? Shebeshxt’s Staff Peanut Salaries Exposed As Modern-Day Slavery

Lekompo rapper Shebeshxt, already knee-deep in controversy following his recent arrest, is now being dragged even further after the alleged salaries of his employees surfaced online — and South Africans are not impressed.

The rapper, currently behind bars after allegedly shooting at a motorist in October 2025, applied for bail this week.

Shebeshxt Finance breakdown

In his affidavit, he attempted to paint a picture of a man with heavy financial responsibilities — but what the public saw instead was a man who appears to earn big and pay small.

Twitter (X) user Am_Blujay recently shared a breakdown of the rapper’s alleged dependants. According to the affidavit, Shebeshxt reportedly sends R25,000 each to his mother and father every month.

The mother of his eight-year-old child allegedly receives R5,000 in maintenance. His current girlfriend, Kholofelo – whose pregnancy he recently announced – is also said to be financially dependent on him.

But that wasn’t even the part that set the internet ablaze.

Another user, Valentine_MGMT, posted an alleged excerpt detailing the salaries of the team that keeps Shebeshxt’s career running.

His staff allegedly includes two dancers, a driver, a manager and a bookings manager — and their supposed monthly earnings sent shockwaves through the timeline:

  • Dancers: R4,500
  • Manager: R2,000
  • Route manager/driver: R3,000
  • Bookings manager: R3,500

With Shebeshxt allegedly earning R180,000 a month on average, social media users didn’t hesitate to call him out for what many dubbed “daylight robbery masquerading as employment.”

Even more confusing: it remains unclear whether the R4,500 is per dancer or split between the two — a detail that only made the public backlash louder.

Despite being fully booked for the festive season with performances across the country, Shebeshxt’s arrest has put all plans on hold.

In his bail application, he argued that he needed to be released to honour gigs and continue supporting his family and team.

But if he hoped for public sympathy, he miscalculated — badly.

Social media erupts: “This must be a typo!”

The alleged salary breakdown ignited an immediate storm:

  • Valentine_MGMT: “I would honestly still like to believe this was a typo, ’cause no way, boy. Artists can be cruel, man.”
  • AaronLedwaba: “Hah?! I genuinely can’t wait for the government to regulate how much people in entertainment get paid. R2,000 for the whole artist manager?”
  • Hlangus_: “That tax bill will be generational.”
  • knmayoni: “This is crazy!”
  • Valentine_MGMT (again): “One booking and you’re making more than your entire team? In a month? Jail that man for crimes against his team as well.”
  • Malawian_Gooner: “A man with huge responsibilities but behaving irresponsibly.”

If the affidavit is accurate, Shebeshxt earns enough in one performance to out-earn his entire team’s combined monthly salaries. The public outrage shows no sign of cooling, with many questioning exploitation in the entertainment industry and calling for regulation.

Shebeshxt may have meant to prove he’s a breadwinner — but all he’s done is convince the public that he’s paying crumbs.
