National Director of Public Prosecutions, Advocate Shamila Batohi, is scheduled to continue her testimony when the Nkabinde Inquiry resumes in Pretoria on Monday.

The inquiry is examining whether suspended South Gauteng Director of Public Prosecutions, Advocate Andrew Chauke, is fit to remain in his position.

Chauke faces serious allegations, including claims that he interfered with critical criminal cases and protected high-profile figures from prosecution.

The inquiry adjourned early on Friday after the inquiry team reported encountering challenges that affected its readiness to proceed.

Chairperson Pushes for Teamwork and Efficiency

Justice Nkabinde reminded the team of its responsibility to support the inquiry’s work and avoid unnecessary delays.

“And for expediency, it will be proper that you work as a team. And I do appreciate that you’re not necessarily an evidence leader – but work as a team to assist this inquiry. We shouldn’t be going back and forth the way we have done.
