Shalate Sekhabi Shuts Down Fake Pregnancy Rumours After Strangers Confront Her

House of Zwide starlet Shalate Sekhabi (affectionately known as Shoki) is NOT here for the internet’s creative writing projects!

Our girl had to take to her Instagram stories to clear the air after some “bored” individuals decided to manifest a whole baby for her without her consent. It’s one thing to have the blogs buzzing, but it’s another when the fan fiction follows you to the grocery store!

Shalate Sekhabi’s Pregnancy Truth Revealed

Shalate didn’t mince words when she addressed the Shalate Sekhabi pregnancy rumours that have been spreading like wildfire. She revealed that she initially tried to play it cool and ignore the noise—because, hello, it’s fake! But the situation turned from “internet trolling” to “real-life harassment” real quick.

The actress shared that complete strangers started approaching her in public, congratulating her on a pregnancy that literally doesn’t exist. Can you imagine? You’re just trying to live your best life, and people are eyeing your midsection for a bump!

“I didn’t want to address this because there’s no truth to it, but so many people believe it. After several strangers came up to me about it, it got to a point,” she told her followers.

When Fans Go Too Far

It wasn’t just annoying; Shalate says it felt violating. She expressed her frustration over the fact that someone sat down, edited an image, and posted it knowing it was total lies.

The former soapie star admitted she feels “angry, violated, and drained” by the whole ordeal. Honestly, we don’t blame her! Why are we so obsessed with checking for “baby bumps” every time a woman breathes? Shalate joins a long list of Mzansi faves—like Mihlali Ndamase and Liesl Laurie Mthombeni—who have had to tell the internet to back off their wombs.

The actress, who made headlines back in October 2025 for her gorgeous engagement to her on-screen hubby Wanda Zuma, is asking her real fans to step up. She’s urged everyone to report the fake accounts and posts that are spreading this misinformation.
