‘Shaka Ilembe” Season 2 – Mzansi Magic Announces Premiere

According to Mzansi Magic, the season 2 of Shaka Ilembe will premiere on DStv Channel 161, on Sunday, June 15th, 2025 at 8pm.

Following the widespread success of season 1 which was released almost two years ago, the show’s return has generated significant buzz and excitement among fans.

Season 2 of ‘Shaka ilembe’ to Feature New Casts

As the story continues, this season will feature new cast additions, such as Zamani Mbatha, Luyanda Zuma, Sikhanyiso Sithole, Amanda Seome, Sphamandla Nene, each infusing the drama with fresh perspectives and talents.

The new cast members of Shaka iLembe season 2 expressed their excitement and gratitude for being part of the production. They join the returning cast, bringing fresh energy to the drama.

Zamani, who plays Nomahlanjana, Zwide’s ambitious son, underwent a rigorous audition process. “Every time they said ‘action’ I was taken aback by what I was able to do and I didn’t know where that came from.” 

He added, “I never doubted God’s timing, even after an audition process that was challenging and intense.”

Amanda joins the cast as Ntombazana, Zwide’s cunning daughter. She believes securing the role was fate. “I auditioned for season 1 and was not successful. I was heartbroken… but then season 2 came. I got a second chance and it was smooth, like it was meant to be.”

Anele takes on the role of Sikhunyana, Zwide’s son who seeks peace. “Being in Shaka iLembe is a dream come true… It is a deeply spiritual show, you can’t just be there for the sake of being there.”

Viewers and dedicated fans have taken to various social media to express their excitement about the premiere of the long awaited season. Some of them are going back to watch season one of the show for the third time as they look forward to June 15th.
