Sergeant Shoots And Kills Female Police Officer, Turns Gun On Himself

A tragic event unfolded on Sunday at Southern Gateway in Westenburg, outside Polokwane, when a junior police officer shot and killed a female senior police officer before turning the gun on himself.
The incident also left a former police officer wounded. This alarming episode has shaken the local community and raised numerous questions about the motive behind the attack.
According to the Limpopo police spokesperson, Hlulani Mashaba, the police sergeant involved in the incident first went to the residence of the former police officer.
An altercation ensued, leading the sergeant to open fire on the former officer. Subsequently, the sergeant rushed to confront the female senior officer, who attempted to flee in her car.

The sergeant fired several shots at her, leading to her death from the sustained gunshot wounds. He then entered her car and turned the gun on himself, resulting in his instant death.
The police sergeant was attached to the provincial crime intelligence unit and the provincial registrar. He was declared dead at the scene, while the retired officer was quickly transported to a hospital for urgent medical care.
The motive behind this shocking incident remains unclear, and authorities are working diligently to uncover the facts.
Limpopo Provincial Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe, has made a public appeal urging citizens to refrain from speculating about the incident.
