Scotts Maphuma Struggling With Pressures Of Fame: “Cancel Me South Africa!”

Scotts Maphuma Struggling With Pressures Of Fame: “Cancel Me South Africa!”

Amapiano star Scotts Maphuma has reached his breaking point and is now calling for Mzansi to ‘cancel’ him after struggling to deal with the pressures of stardom.

The musician has been making headlines for the wrong reasons, with several videos surfacing online showing him snapping at fans who ask for pictures. Now, he’s finally breaking his silence and making it clear — fame is not all it’s cracked up to be!

Scotts Maphuma Rants

In a fiery post, Scotts vented about how he no longer feels like a normal person due to his fame.

“This is the last time I give attention to this, I swear. I’m not money, I can’t be loved by everyone. I can’t deal with the fact that my life can’t be private anymore.”

He explained that simple things, like going to the mall to buy shoes, have become a struggle because he constantly has to stop for pictures.

“I don’t mind if it’s just a picture, but I can’t spend every minute of my life being Scotts Maphuma. When am I gonna be normal again?” Yoh! Fame is really showing him flames!

‘South Africa Doesn’t Care About Us’

The amapiano hitmaker also questioned Mzansi’s expectations of celebrities, saying that fans don’t care if he’s having a bad day.

“Has South Africa thought about that? So if South Africa doesn’t care about us, whether you’re hurt or not in the mood, it could be anything… Why should I always understand that these people are my fans? Why?”

He admitted that when he tries to set boundaries, people label him as rude.

“You tell a person that today I’m not feeling like taking pictures, all of a sudden you’re rude.”

‘Cancel Me So I Can Be Free’

Clearly tired of the fame game, Scotts boldly told South Africans to cancel him if that’s what it takes to get his peace back.

“So I should give people my time and energy by force just because I’m who I am? I’m sorry. Cancel me South Africa — maybe I’ll be free from you.”

Mzansi Reacts: ‘Fame Is a Trap!’

Social media is buzzing over Scotts’ outburst, with mixed reactions. Some fans feel sorry for him, while others think he needs to accept that fame comes with sacrifices.

“These celebrities need to pick a struggle. You wanted to be famous, now you’re complaining?”

“I get where he’s coming from. SA fans can be so entitled, as if artists are not human too.”

“This is why some celebs move overseas — at least people mind their business there.”

With the pressures of fame clearly weighing heavy on him, the question now is — will Scotts Maphuma take a break, or is this just frustration talking?

What do you think? Should celebs be given space, or is fame just part of the job?
