Seven years have passed since Sbahle Mpisane’s near-fatal car accident, yet one thing remains stubbornly unchanged: the moon boot.

Social media once again showed its fangs after users accused the fitness bunny and reality TV star of faking or exaggerating her leg injury, reigniting a debate that refuses to die.

The Accident That Started It All

Back in 2018, Sbahle Mpisane survived a horrific crash after slamming her BMW into a tree in Durban following a night out with friends. The accident almost claimed her life and left her with serious injuries, including damage to her leg — hence the moon boot.

At the time, the public sympathised. Hard.

Fast-forward to 2025, and that sympathy has curdled into scepticism.

X Sees Sbahle Mpisane Walking… and Loses Patience

The latest drama kicked off when X user @realnorma_kay shared a video of Sbahle casually walking her dog — moon boot and all — and asked what many have been whispering for years:

• @realnorma_kay: “How long is this one going to fake her leg injury?”

That single tweet opened a can of worms the timeline was clearly starving for.

Another user echoed the same sentiment and was immediately attacked by Sbahle’s defenders — but critics doubled down instead of backing off.

• @sekoati_tsietsi: “We told them you can only wear moon boots for six weeks or, as advised, jiki-jiki she lost her ankle and might wear it permanently. Her fans can even argue with doctors and surgeons; they know a lot.”

“She Said She Walks Fine at Home” – The Contradictions Fuel the Fire

What really poured petrol on the flames is that Sbahle herself has previously said she can walk without the boot — something the internet has not forgotten.

Now social media is connecting dots that Sbahle probably wishes stayed disconnected.

If she lied about amnesia… why must the moon boot be believed without question?
