The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, expanding trade and investment opportunities, and addressing global challenges.
During an official visit to Saudi Arabia in 2022, Ramaphosa emphasized the potential for joint ventures and industrial partnerships, noting that Saudi companies have access to capital, expertise, and international markets that could benefit South African businesses.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s Public Works and Infrastructure Minister, Dean Macpherson, is leading an official working visit to the Middle East, including stops in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

Its visit aims to attract investment into South Africa’s infrastructure sector, which the government views as a key driver of economic growth and job creation. Macpherson and his delegation will engage with senior government officials, sovereign wealth funds, state-owned enterprises, and private sector investors to explore funding opportunities for major infrastructure projects.
