SASSA Assures Beneficiaries Of Social Grant Payments Will Continue Without Disruption

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has urged social grant beneficiaries not to panic, assuring them that payments will continue without interruption.

This follows reports suggesting that SASSA would not renew its service agreement with Postbank, sparking concerns about potential delays in grant payments.

Postbank has dismissed these claims, confirming that discussions with SASSA are ongoing to ensure smooth operations.

SASSA Reassures Beneficiaries of Continued Support

SASSA spokesperson Andile Tshona emphasised that it remains “business as usual” and that no eligible beneficiary will be left without support, even if there is a shift in service providers.

“SASSA wishes to reiterate its commitment to a seamless and efficient distribution of social grants to all its beneficiaries in line with its mandate. To achieve this mandate, SASSA is working with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that social grants are paid to the right person at the right time,” said Tshona.
