Sarah Langa Lost R133K In Designer Goods At A Paris Airport

Hayibo, not Paris giving our girl a welcome she absolutely did not ask for! South African luxury influencer Sarah Langa touched down in the City of Light on what was supposed to be a dreamy European getaway — only to arrive at her hotel and discover that airport thieves had completely ransacked her premium Rimowa suitcase.

The lock was jammed, the zipper was broken, and approximately R133,000 worth of designer goods had vanished into thin Parisian air. Just like that, before the vacation even properly began.

Sarah Langa’s R133,000 Luxury Items Stolen From Her Luggage At Paris Airport

The stolen haul reads like a luxury fashion wish list that someone had absolutely no business taking. Multiple pairs of brand-new designer shoes she hadn’t even worn yet, a collection of designer sunglasses, and a bathing suit were among the items that were ripped straight out of her bag mid-transit.

Langa, who took to TikTok on 30 May 2026 to share the devastating footage, was visibly distraught as she showed her followers the state of her violated suitcase. She was, by her own admission, “basically walking around barefoot” for nearly an entire week because her whole footwear situation had been wiped out completely — with no stores nearby to even fix the problem quickly.

Iyoh, the audacity of those thieves, kodwa! The influencer, who is well known for her impeccably curated luxury lifestyle content, did not hold back when it came to calling out the airline either.

“Imagine landing and getting to your hotel to find that your luggage has been broken into at the airport and all of your shoes and all your sunglasses have been stolen. Thank you, Air France, for ruining my vacation before it even started,” she said pointedly, placing the accountability squarely where she felt it belonged.

Air France responded publicly, directing her to fill out an official claim form via the link in their bio — within seven days of recovering her bags. Whether that response was satisfying enough for Sarah, or for the internet, is a whole other conversation.

How Sarah Langa Turned Her Paris Travel Nightmare Into A Resilience Moment

Here is where the story takes a turn that honestly deserves its own applause. Instead of packing up and flying straight back to Johannesburg — which, frankly, anyone would have understood — Sarah Langa bought herself one single pair of designer pumps and proceeded to wear them for the entirety of her European trip. One pair. The whole trip.

And she rocked them across multiple stunning vacation shots like the luxury girlie she is. “Landing in Paris with no shoes cos someone decided to break into my bag and steal all my shoes. Then buying one pair of shoes to wear for the whole trip! Now that’s a memory I keep forever!” she later wrote, turning heartbreak into a headline.

@lowkeysarahlanga No one ever speaks of the horrors of travelling….This is not okay @Air France over €6/7k (excluding my actual suitcase which is destroyed) of items stolen from my luggage at the airport? Also @RIMOWA ♬ original sound – lowkeysarahlanga

She also shared that she cried about the incident but ultimately chose to post the video to warn other international travellers about the very real and very targeted threat of airport luggage theft.

And with her comment section flooded by followers sharing their own horror stories of airline theft, it is clear that Sarah is far from alone in this. The conversation around airline accountability and airport security has been reignited — and this time, a R133,000 lesson is at the centre of it.
